This page contains answers to common questions handled by our support staff, along with some tips and tricks that we have found useful.
| Can I create my own Elements and Libraries? |
Yes. You can create your own Elements from scratch or from an existing Element as a starting point, using the Element Editor within StringView. Alternatively, contact the StringView team at sales@stringview.com to discuss the creation of custom Elements and Libraries to your requirements.
| Can I use my own Element drawings in StringView? |
Yes. Contact the StringView team at sales@stringview.com to discuss the conversion of external drawings - whether it's in a public format (e.g. DXF) or a private format, we can work with you to create a custom library.
| How do I change the Output Presentation? |
You have many tools which can be used to control the format of the printed Well Diagram (e.g. Labels, Backgrounds). It is similar to a page layout program except that it is tailored for use with Well Diagrams.
| Can I import my own Logo? |
Yes. This is possible using Layout : Insert : Picture.
| Can I access my String Data Files without StringView? |
No. StringView data is encrypted. Contact StringView at support@stringview.com if you need to be able to do this.
| Is StringView Copy Protected? |
Yes. You need to have a licensed copy of StringView otherwise the program will operate in Evaluation mode and your output will be watermarked.
| Will printout quality deteriorate if I stretch Elements? |
No. The Elements are vector based graphics, which means that full resolution is maintained, even when an Element is stretched or curved.
